Chris
has been working in the Substance Misuse field for the past 17 years. He has worked in many settings in both the voluntary and statutory sectors including the criminal justice system, residential rehabilitation, prescribing and street agencies. He has held many positions ranging from generic practitioner to crack cocaine specialist. Since 1994 Chris has delivered
training to a variety of professionals including psychologists,
doctors, prison workers, nurses and drug workers. He has also been involved in setting up and developing
crack cocaine services within the UK . Chris is widely
recognised in the London region as a pioneer in the substance misuse field particularly in his work with crack cocaine users and in training profesionals and volunteeers to work within this group. Chris passionately believes in equal access to services for all those who experience problems as a result of their substance use. In particular he has a long history of commitment to increasing the accessibility of services for members of the black community. Chris holds recognised qualifications
in counselling and group work.
