Interventions in all forms are crucial for the modern business.
It saves resources, and reduces profit loss, as well as aiding
in the smooth running of an agency or company. It is becoming
more clear that there are and will be consequences if companies
do not provide enough support to their managers and workers.
It is not good enough to either tolerate inappropriate and
problematic behaviour due to using drugs and alcohol, nor
is it appropriate to sack or penalise professionals for having
a legitimate life affecting issue with substances. Dependency
is real and is recognised by the Government, health care,
social care and criminal justice as a real phenomenon. And
now it is acknowledged that drug and alcohol use is a major
issue within the working populous.
