This is an interesting extract from an article published in the Nature Research Journal. Professor Carl L. Hart wrote an article entitled ‘Viewing Addiction as a Brain Disease’.  Within which he stated that ‘The view of drug use and drug addiction as a brain disease serves to perpetuate unrealistic, costly, and discriminatory drug policies’ and goes on to also state that ‘there are virtually no data in humans indicating that addiction is a disease of the brain’.  To read more
